Adding Tests from a scheduled Reminder

The method for adding a record of a completed Test event depends on whether it was an action that was not scheduled in EasyKeeper, or as a result of a scheduled task. This article describes how to add a Test that has a scheduled reminder, or what we generally call "completing a scheduled reminder".

Completing a scheduled reminder allows the system to do three things for you at one time: 1) Record that the test event has been completed and record the information related to the test, 2) Remove the reminder from your future EasyList emails and displays within your Herd Management Interface, and 3) Schedule the next reminder in a reminder series.

Step 1:

From the reminder on your EasyList, click on the event name - or when logged into your EasyKeeper Herd Management Interface, click on the green checkmark icon for the reminder's display on your Herd Dashboard, the animal's Snapshot or the animal's Health page:

Step 2:

The Add Event page displays with all the known information prefilled, with the Date displayed as the scheduled Test Date. Update and/or enter any additional information as necessary.

Some things to note when adding Tests:
  • You can select a Method from the drop down menu. If the one you are looking for displays, select it. If it does not display, you can add it by selecting the "Other..." option at the bottom of the list.
  • The default setting for the Result field is "pending". If you don't have the result for the test yet, using this option will display the Test in the "Tests pending results" section of the animal's Health page. Otherwise, select a Result from the drop down menu. If the one you need isn't listed, you can add it by selecting the "Other..." option at the bottom of the list.
  • The "Add a reminder for future occurrences of this event" checkbox does not display as the system already knows this event is either a one-time event, or a reminder series and will manage future reminders accordingly.

Step 3:

Save the Test event by clicking the orange Save button at the bottom of the form. Once you have saved the entry the following will occur:
  • The animal's Health page will display, and the Test will be added to the animal's Health History, and to the Pending Tests section if applicable.
  • If you have added a new Test Type, Method or Result, it will start displaying in the suggestions or drop down when adding events in the future.
