Adding Tests that don't have a reminder scheduled

Recording the administration of Tests and their results are a part of the Health & Wellness feature. Due to the flexible nature or the Health & Wellness Activities module any type of test can be recorded in this section, including those for disease, pregnancy and DNA.

The method for adding a record of a completed Test event depends on whether it was an action that was not scheduled in EasyKeeper, or as a result of a scheduled task. This article describes how to add a Test that is an unscheduled event (meaning there is no reminder for it scheduled in EasyKeeper).

Step 1:


Go to the animal's Health tab and select Add Event:

When the Add Event page displays, select Test from the Event Category dropdown:

Enter the information related to the Test. Some things to note when adding Tests:

  • Start typing the name of the Test in the Test Type field, and we will start suggesting Test names that have already been added to the database as you type. If the one you are looking for displays, select it. If it does not display, go ahead and finish typing it in to add it.
  • You can select a Method from the drop down menu. If the one you are looking for displays, select it. If it does not display, you can add it by selecting the "Other..." option at the bottom of the list.
  • The default setting for the Result field is "pending". If you don't have the result for the test yet, using this option will display the Test in the "Tests pending results" section of the animal's Health page. Otherwise, select a Result from the drop down menu. If the one you need isn't listed, you can add it by selecting the "Other..." option at the bottom of the list.
  • Check the "Add a reminder for future occurrences of this event" checkbox to schedule a reminder or reminder series after you have saved the Test event.

Step 4:


Save the Test event by clicking the orange Save button at the bottom of the form. Once you have saved the entry the following will occur:

If you have checked the "Add a reminder for future occurrences of this event" checkbox
  • The Add Reminder form will display to allow you to set up a one-time reminder or a reminder series.
  •  Once the reminder or reminder series is added, the animal's Health page will display, and the Test will be added to the animal's Health History, and to the Pending Tests section if applicable.
  • The reminder series will be created in the system, with the next scheduled reminder displaying in the Scheduled Health Events section of the animal's Health page and on its Snapshot, and on the EasyList and Herd Management Dashboard as scheduled.
  • If you have added a new Test Type, Method or Result, it will start displaying in the suggestions or drop down when adding events in the future.
If you did not check the "Add a reminder for future occurrences of this event" checkbox
  • The animal's Health page will display, and the Test will be added to the animal's Health History, and to the Pending Tests section if applicable.
  • If you have added a new Test Type, Method or Result, it will start displaying in the suggestions or drop down when adding events in the future.
