Prior to adding daily milk records you will need to create a Lactation Record with which to associate the daily records. You can create a Lactation while adding the animal's kidding record by checking the Create Lactation Record checkbox, or by going to the Milk page by clicking the Add Lactation button.

Batch entry of daily milk records

Using the Batch Entry form is the most efficient way to add your animals' daily milk records.

To add the milk records for multiple animals for a single day, go to the Batch Entry section, select the Add Daily Milk Records link, and enter the record date.

The Add Daily Milk Records form will display the names of all animals in milk on that day and allow you to add morning and/or evening entries, or a daily total.

Any records that were previously entered for your animals for the specified date will be pre-filled and editable. This is especially helpful if you want to add morning and evening records while milking or at different sittings.

The milk record will be added to the lactation that was active on the record date, regardless of the lactation's current status.
