The information that is updated when linking a herd animal to a Kid record

When you link an existing herd animal to a Kid record when adding or editing a Kidding record, the following information from the Kidding event will be automatically synched to the herd animal record:
  • The animal's Date of Birth will updated to the Kidding Date
  • The animal's gender will be updated based on the gender in the Kid Record
  • The animal's Dam will be updated to the Dam associated with the Kidding record
  • The animal's Sire will be updated to the Sire associated with the Kidding record
  • The animal's conception type will be updated to that in the Kidding record
We advise that you are cautious when linking Kid records to herd animals, as any information updated in the herd animal's record when it is linked to the Kid record will not be reset when it is unlinked.
