When to archive a Folder, and how to do it
Archiving the Folders of animals no longer in your herd keeps your Herd Management Interface uncluttered by eliminating the display of animals you no longer need to readily access. Additionally, archiving the Folder adds a special designation that drives the animal's display in applicable lists and reports, planning guides, and removes it from the scrolling herd list and bulk entry forms. No data is destroyed in the archiving process.
You'll want to archive an animal's Folder by processing a Status Update in the following circumstances:
- The animal has been sold or culled
- The animal has been destroyed
- The animal has died
- The animal has been slaughtered
- The animal's boarding period has ended and it has been returned to its owner
- The animal's lease period has ended and it has been returned to its owner
