Prior to adding daily milk records you will need to create a Lactation Record with which to associate the daily records. You can create a Lactation while adding the animal's kidding record by checking the Create Lactation Record checkbox, or by going to the Milk page by clicking the Add Lactation button.

Entry of daily milk records via animal's milk page

To add milk records to the current lactation for an individual animal, go to the animal's Milk page and click the Add Daily Record link. The Add Daily Milk Record form will display, allowing you to add morning and/or evening entries, or a daily total.

To save time, the date on the Add Daily Record form will be pre-filled with the date after the animal's last milk record. However, it is editable, so if you change it to an earlier date any records previously entered for your animals for that date will be pre-filled and editable. Like the batch entry form, this is especially helpful if you want to add morning and evening records at different sittings.

The batch entry form may also be used to add a daily milk record for an individual.

Adding milk records to a closed lactation

To add milk records to a closed lactation for an individual animal, go to the animal's Milk page and click the view icon for the associated lactation to access the Add Daily Record form.
