Right now, a kid can be listed as "pending" or pedigree can be left blank, or a new goat can enter the herd before the papers are in hand (but not yet recorded). In order to add the registration number for a currently existing record, it must be done manually, instead of asking for database access ("community data"), as is done when creating the folder.
